SMK Photographics- Coronavirus (COVID-19)
implementing protective measures in education and childcare settings
Photo Day and Behaviour on Site:
Safe arrival: We will consult with you on how we can enter the facility in such a way that is neither disruptive to the school nor poses any risks related to social distancing (e.g. via a side entrance)
Minimum distance: At work, we maintain a minimum distance of 2 metres from other people, especially children and the establishment staff. Distance during waiting period: We will need enough space to ensure that the waiting students maintain the 2 metres distance. We will provide temporary ground markers to show the students where they must stand while waiting. No Touch / Distance Posing: We will ensure that we can deliver the same quality of pictures by posing the children without breaking the 2 metres distance rule. We may require a staff member on hand to assist with younger children.
All SMK employees will be suitably dressed in PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) including non-latex gloves, face mask, and will have a supply of alcoholic hand gel and disinfectant wipes at hand at all times.
Cleaning and hygiene: Our Staff clean their hands regularly. Equipment used, any props used, and backgrounds are regularly disinfected between changing bubble groups.
Fresh air breaks: If photographs are taken inside the establishment, we will ensure regular airing (if possible).
Sibling shots will only be taken if all siblings involved are from the same bubble group.
Weddings During Covid 19
Coronavirus Phase Three: what it means for weddings in Scotland
The First Minister has announced on 30th July that we must still adhere to phase three guidelines, as we are not yet ready to move to phase four.
When the Covid19 lockdown began what felt like a lifetime ago – we can’t believe it was only March – weddings as we knew them were suspended indefinitely.
But in early July, Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced a step back towards normality by relaxing restrictions on marriage ceremonies during phase three. Indoor weddings? Yes please, Nicola.
Small weddings could begin to take place from 29th June. However these small ceremonies could only host eight people from a maximum of three households – and could only take place outdoors.
Scottish to-be-weds now have slightly more options open to them.
What a phase three wedding will look like
From Wednesday 15th July, wedding ceremonies can be held indoors in Scotland. That means hotels, restaurants, or any suitable indoor location you can think of.
With the restrictions on places of worship being relaxed by the Scottish Government’s move into phase three of the coronavirus route map, this also means religious ceremonies can now go ahead.
To get the best out of cake smash photo shoots and make them a unique experience book before your child's first or second birthday. Doing so will allow enough time to get your amazing photos for birthday party invitations or to mark this birthday milestone.
What better way to celebrate your little one’s birthday than with cake! Celebrate with a fabulous cake, balloons, birthday props and a 8x6 image of your choice. A great gift for a first birthday.
A cake smash photography session begins with a mini photo shoot. This provides an opportunity to capture some lovely photos of your baby in their clothes specially selected for the occasion. Then it's time for the fun to begin! Often at a cake smash photoshoot it is the first time most children have ever eaten cake. As a result kids love to dive right in covering their hair, body and face in birthday cake and sometimes even crawling through it.
Like All Weddings Our aim is always- keep the couple chilled & relaxed ( no worries here ). This couple Robert & Kelly from Pollock Glasgow had no worries as both the bride & groom where staying the night before & getting ready at the venue,The Holiday Inn East Kilbride. They where very chilled and relaxed & both couldn't believe how far staff went to please for anything they needed. The day kicked off with photographs in the ceremony room as the couple exchanged vows, then straight outside with family & friends for their special requested photographs ..We then made our way round the grounds for some stunning photographs at the decking area. This couple commented that staff can't do enough and although the hotel was only days away from the completion of their new £500,ooo refurbishment. The Holiday Inn East Kilbride is now ready to launch their brand new........... East Kilbride restaurant The Cow On The Hill
Nothing was a problem, and as we are local its certainly on our very own hit list.
Peebles HydroWedding This wedding at one of the Scottish Borders’ best-loved hotels Peebles Hydro Hotel, was a very special celebration of life and love, and we were so pleased to be part of it. The Young Professional Couple our bride Vikki Kerr, is the wedding coordinator at this iconic venue and her husband Joe Gordon, a chef at the nearby Crown hotel. The couple chose to get married with a civil ceremony at the Park hotel in Peebles . We started our day with bridal prep at the brides room in Peebles Hydro then moved on to catch Joe and his family arrive at the Park hotel with special guests and family coming from as far a field as Australia. As the piper tuned up the bride arrived with her proud dad in a stunning vintage Silver Cloud.
We were very privileged to have photographed such a perfect day with such a relaxed couple ( i do think her job helps. )
As an individual who enjoys every wedding you do know your doing things right when the wedding planner from one of Scotland prestigious wedding venues chooses
SMK Photographics to photograph her very own big day.
Holiday in East Kilbride
Day 3 of 3 of a Busy Glasgow bank holiday weekend was the wedding of Annamarie and Jamie Hunter at the Holiday Inn East Kilbride.
We Started off our day with bridal prep in one of the newly refurbished bedrooms with the Bride & Bridesmaids. Then made our way downstairs to the main hotel reception area where the Groom arrived in the fab Maserati Wedding Car from NIL Wedding Cars.We then continued photographing all guests, couples and families arriving till the stunning Bride Annamarie was due to make her grand entrance with her dad & bridesmaids. The Day flowed with photographs around the hotel grounds and the decking area with the pond in the background. With both the Bride & Groom coming from such large families we had many group & family shotts , at the Bride & Grooms request then finished the day off with the cutting of the wedding cake before the couple sat down for the wedding breakfast.
So thats how my bank holiday weekend was spent!! Photographing weddings, how was yours.
Back here again, My second home, Great to be back at the Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld, This time for a very good cause ( Team Alicia) a very worth while cartable cause.
This Black tie event was to raise some money for the good causes that support families through a childs illness, and I'm delighted to say this is exactly what they did, raising over £6000.00 in total. S.M.K Photographics was there doing arrival photographs then afterwards everybody made good use of our Photobooth in the stunning carsick suit.
Weddings at The Westerwood Hotel Cumbernauld
After a busy weekend with day 1 of 3, friday we had the pleasure of photographing Brenda & Gavin,s wedding at the Westerwood Hotel & Golf Resort In Cumbernauld.
Great venue for a wedding, with so many options in the hotel like what function suite to choose to be married in, this couple had chosen the club room upstairs with a registar wedding ceremony, this couple exchanged there vows & afterwards we all headed out on to the clubhouse staircase for a group shot.
Weddings at the Westerwood Hotel offers a great variety of options inside & out for photographs as you can have the stunning views & surrounded by the great landscapes with the Campsie Hills in the distant background. A fantastic day was enjoyed by all the wedding guests and the weather held up well to allow us some stunning photographs across the golf course.
Joseph & Colette tied the knot last week and chose two of our favourite venues for their big day. They held their ceremony at the Glasgow University chapel, which is a gorgeous and very impressive setting indeed. There's so much scope for fantastic photos on the uni grounds that we're totally spoiled for choice as photographers :) Even though the weather was really bad we got stunning Photographs @ The Memorial Chapel at the University of Glasgow, Scotland with the service being conducted by the lovely Fr Dowling who traveled all the way from St.Anothy,s R.C. Church in Govan Glasgow & on Video was also John Carroll photography Glasgow.
The party was at the Busby Hotel , another fantastic venue and quite frankly an amazing space for Photographs. The DJ certainly know how to get a room up dancing, not that Joseph & Colette,s guests needed much coaxing!
We really loved being part of the day and can't wait to share even more fab photos very soon.
Post Taged: Lynnhurst Hotel Johnstone
